Deciduous trees with spreading crown, long dropping branches, usually more than 10 m tall (sometimes up to 30 m), branches ribbed; bark dark brown and smooth. Stipules ca. 12 mm x 4 mm, linear, crescent-shaped, attached by their centre, hairy, caducous. Leaves alternate, unipinnately paripinnate, 18-25 cm long; rachis extended beyond leaflets; leaflets 10-12 pairs, opposite, 2.6-4.6 cm x 1.4-2.2 cm, oblong or ovate, both surfaces pilose or abaxially pilose adaxially sparsely puberulent, base rounded, slightly asymmetric, apex obtuse, mucronate; petiolules 1 mm long; petioles ca. 1.4 cm long, with adaxial groove, pulvinate. Inflorescence racemes or corymbose racemes, ca. 16 cm long, on short side branches or terminal on young leafy shoots. Flowers zygomorphic, bisexual, pentamerous, perigynous, showy, pink. Pedicels 3-3.5 cm long, finely pubescent. Sepals 5, free, ovate or broadly lanceolate, apex acute or acuminate, ca. 5 mm x 2.5 mm, pubescent. Petals 5, pink, fading to white on maturity, ca. 18 mm x 10 mm, oblong, obtuse, shortly clawed, slightly pubescent. Stamens 10; 3 stamens with yellow long curved (sigmoid) filaments up to 3.0 cm long with a large swelling, anthers ca. 4 mm long, basifixed; 3 stamens short with erect filaments up to 8 mm long, anthers ca. 2 mm long, basifixed; medium 4 with erect filaments up to 12 mm, anthers versatile with curved beak to 4 mm long dehiscing by apical pores. Ovary stipitate, half inferior, slender, pubescent, unilocular with many ovules, placentation marginal; style short, incurved; stigma punctiform.
Legumes terete, 30-60 cm x 1-1.5 cm with annular nodes, 50-70 seeded. (Legumes not observed)
